About the position

The Outside Sales Manager at Solar Atmospheres of Michigan is responsible for traveling to meet potential customers in need of heat treating services, primarily in the aerospace, automotive, airline, and medical industries. This role emphasizes a customer-first approach, building relationships, and leveraging extensive leads to drive business growth. The position requires significant travel, with the provision of a company car, credit card, and phone to facilitate the role's demands.

Responsibilities

• Visit multiple prospects and customers daily to build relationships and pitch services.
• Call and follow up with a high volume of prospects and inbound leads.
• Plan weekly travel schedules and coordinate flights/hotels as needed.
• Utilize HubSpot to maintain accurate records of prospecting/customer activities.
• Provide daily reports to the Director of Sales on activities.
• Network and participate at trade shows/conferences throughout the territory.

Requirements

• Heat treating or Metal Service Center sales background with connections to machine and metal fabrication shops throughout MI and WI.
• Comfortability with extensive travel.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
• General knowledge of metallurgy and heat treatment of multiple types of materials preferred.
• Results-oriented, motivated, and able to work independently.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize work, and complete tasks with little supervision.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
