About the position

The Outside Sales Manager for the Midwest Territory at Senbesta is responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with customers in the window covering and equipment wholesale industry. This role requires a self-motivated and enthusiastic individual who can effectively manage multiple tasks while being detail-oriented. The position involves seeking new leads, managing existing accounts, introducing new products, and upselling to contract projects, with a significant amount of travel required to meet clients and attend trade shows.

Responsibilities

  • Attract potential customers by answering product and service questions and suggesting information about other products and services.
  • Open customer accounts by evaluating customer information and recording account information.
  • Develop customer relationships through follow-up and regular interaction.
  • Conduct daily/weekly follow-ups with clients on orders.
  • Feed new product and service ideas, market trends, and competitive intelligence to Product Management.
  • Contact customers via telephone, correspondence, or in person, traveling as necessary to meet and surpass profitable sales goals.
  • Utilize company leads to expand the current customer base and follow up on all leads promptly.
  • Maintain updated, organized files on all accounts in the assigned territory.
  • Complete and submit weekly sales reports on account activity, outstanding proposals, proposals secured, and proposals lost.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent and related work experience.
  • 3-5 years of successful direct field sales experience.
  • Ability to be in the field within Territory 80% (including some overnights).
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills.
  • Proficiency with analyzing sales data to implement a strategic selling plan.
  • Proven success rate at levels above quotas.
  • Hunter mentality combined with the ability to build long-lasting business relationships.
  • Strong organizational and presentation skills.
  • Detail-oriented and 'hands-on' to follow multiple orders through from generation to close.

Nice-to-haves

  • 5 years of sales experience (Preferred).
  • Willingness to travel 50% (Preferred).
