About the position

The Outside Sales Manager is responsible for generating profitable new account revenue by leading a team of Outside Sales Representatives. This hybrid position requires the candidate to live in the market area and travel as needed to meet with customers and attend the office. The role involves developing and executing the Market Area's Sales and Marketing Plan to achieve revenue goals, maintaining high customer satisfaction, and providing training and support to the sales team.

Responsibilities

  • Generate profitable new account revenue by leading a team of Outside Sales Representatives.
  • Develop and execute the Market Area's Sales and Marketing Plan to achieve revenue goals.
  • Identify, qualify, and rank prospects, assigning selling responsibilities to appropriate Outside Sales Representatives.
  • Maintain and reinforce the corporate sales strategy with the Outside Sales Team.
  • Establish and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Communicate with Market Area Management to resolve unique prospective customer issues.
  • Demonstrate outstanding management and customer service skills to motivate sales team members.
  • Maintain an ongoing training, coaching, and mentoring program for OSRs.
  • Supervise activities of OSRs to ensure sales call activity and revenue targets are met.
  • Manage and ensure the use of Waste Management sales tools effectively.
  • Provide expert industry knowledge to OSRs and customers.
  • Assist in communication and maintenance of pricing and service strategies.
  • Interview and select qualified candidates for OSR positions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or High School Diploma/GED with 4 years of relevant work experience.
  • 3 years of experience in direct business-to-business sales, cold calling, and prospecting.
  • Proven success in a Level 4-6 sales position for at least 3 years.
