The Outside Sales Manager plays a crucial role in this vision by managing the outside sales team, developing strategies to meet or exceed sales targets, and building long-term relationships with clients. This position requires a proactive approach to leadership and sales strategy, ensuring that the sales efforts align with the company's goals and objectives. In this role, the Outside Sales Manager will be responsible for recruiting, training, managing, and motivating a team of outside sales representatives. The individual will develop and implement sales strategies aimed at achieving business objectives, with a strong focus on growing market share and revenue. Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with key clients, prospects, and partners is essential to drive business success. The manager will also track and evaluate sales performance through key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics, making necessary adjustments to ensure that sales goals are met. Regular sales forecasting and reporting on sales activity and performance will be required, along with identifying trends and potential areas for improvement. Fieldwork is a significant aspect of this role, as the manager will spend time in the field with sales representatives, assisting in closing deals and building relationships with customers. Staying up to date with industry trends, competitor activities, and customer needs is vital for adjusting sales strategies accordingly. Additionally, the Outside Sales Manager will work closely with the marketing and product teams to ensure alignment of sales and marketing initiatives, optimizing the sales process to improve efficiency and effectiveness in reaching out to potential customers.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in sales, preferably in an outside sales environment.
  • Experience in a managerial role is highly desirable.
  • Strong leadership and motivational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to develop and implement effective sales strategies.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and sales tracking tools.
  • Strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities.
  • NetSuite experience is a plus.
