About the position

The Sales Manager is responsible for managing accounts to achieve guest satisfaction and to solicit both past and new business, ensuring that all revenue goals are achieved or exceeded. This role involves a variety of essential functions, including interviewing, selecting, training, scheduling, coaching, and supporting associates to ensure they perform in accordance with established brand or hotel standards and consistent with HHM core values. The Sales Manager will maximize revenue by selling all facets of the hotel to previous, current, and potential clients, utilizing professional sales techniques to negotiate the best possible terms and conditions that satisfy both internal and external customer requirements. In addition to managing accounts, the Sales Manager will ensure that all pertinent aspects of solicitation and closing are complete and documented. This includes coordinating various departments' participation in servicing accounts and maintaining hotel relationships with key accounts to increase customer satisfaction and account revenue. The role also requires the development and delivery of persuasive verbal sales presentations to prospective clients, articulating and leveraging the benefits of the hotel to close sales opportunities. The Sales Manager will be expected to travel locally to conduct outside calls, promote the hotel, and review competition, as well as represent the hotel at trade shows. Following sustainability guidelines and practices related to HHM's EarthView program is also a key responsibility of this position.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in Hospitality or related industry preferred.
  • Proven track record in sales required, with previous hospitality sales experience preferred.
  • Ability to work a varied schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in hospitality sales is preferred.
  • Familiarity with sustainability practices in the hospitality industry.
