Stewart & Stevenson is seeking a dedicated and results-driven Outside Sales Parts & Service Representative to join our team in Commerce City, CO. This role is pivotal in effectively selling parts and services for the trucking and fleet delivery sectors, specifically focusing on On-Highway applications. The representative will be responsible for managing an assigned territory, aiming to achieve maximum sales profitability and growth. This position requires a proactive approach to generating new customer accounts while also servicing and maintaining existing accounts to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty. The Outside Sales Parts & Service Representative will analyze customer needs and interests, determining how our products and services can best meet those needs. Achieving sales goals and forecasts set by the department and organization is a key responsibility. The representative will also assist in marketing and selling new products or prototypes to the existing marketplace, ensuring that our offerings remain competitive and relevant. In addition to sales responsibilities, the representative will interface with various departments, including engineering, manufacturing, production, and purchasing, to oversee project development and ensure timely delivery of finished products. Monitoring sales orders to ensure that project costs, materials lists, and delivery schedules meet specifications and deadlines is crucial. The role also involves computing installation or production costs and preparing bid specifications for customers, negotiating proposals and contracts as necessary. Building and maintaining strong business relationships within the petroleum industry is essential for generating a positive business image for the organization. The representative will plan and organize sales strategies, expedite the resolution of customer issues, and ensure a strong market share for our products and services. Attendance at sales and trade meetings, along with staying informed on market conditions and industry developments, will be part of the role. The representative will also demonstrate and explain the use of installed equipment and production processes, arrange for installation and test-operation of machinery, and recommend solutions to product-related problems. Evaluating sales performance results and providing management with reports on customer needs, market situations, and competitive activities will round out the responsibilities of this position.
