About the position

The Outside Sales Relationship Manager at Heartland Payment Systems is responsible for selling merchant services to businesses, managing client relationships, and identifying revenue opportunities within assigned territories. This role involves face-to-face meetings, account management, and maintaining client records in the CRM system. The position requires a proactive approach to sales and a deep understanding of the payments industry.

Responsibilities

  • Sell merchant services offerings to businesses.
  • Manage a portfolio of clients and identify revenue opportunities.
  • Conduct face-to-face meetings with prospects to qualify leads.
  • Respond to customer requests for information and conduct online presentations.
  • Identify and close additional product and service sales with existing clients.
  • Maintain client records in the CRM system, including call notes and scheduled interactions.
  • Keep management informed of all activity through timely report preparation.
  • Continuously build knowledge of current product/service portfolio and industry developments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or relevant experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in sales.
  • B2B sales experience and cold calling sales experience preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Demonstrated successful performance in previous sales roles.
  • Expert knowledge of the merchant payment industry.
