About the position

The Outside Sales Relationship Manager at Heartland Payment Systems is responsible for selling merchant services to businesses, managing client relationships, and identifying revenue opportunities within assigned territories. This role involves both field sales and some phone-based interactions, focusing on customer segmentation, account management, and ensuring client satisfaction throughout the sales cycle.

Responsibilities

  • Sell merchant services offerings to businesses.
  • Manage a portfolio of clients and identify revenue opportunities.
  • Conduct face-to-face meetings with prospects to qualify leads.
  • Respond to customer requests for information and conduct online presentations.
  • Identify and close additional product and service sales with existing clients.
  • Maintain client records in the CRM system, including call notes and scheduled interactions.
  • Keep management informed of all activity through timely report preparation.
  • Continuously build knowledge of current product/service portfolio and industry developments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in B2B sales or cold calling.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build customer relationships.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, preferably SalesForce.com.
  • Demonstrated successful performance in previous sales roles.
