Maly's @ ManocoBlue is seeking an Outside Sales Representative to join our team, focusing primarily on the Detroit area. Our mission is to supply our clients with premium products and cutting-edge education to enhance their salon skills. We are committed to providing personalized customer service to help salons grow and achieve success. This full-time position offers a dynamic and fast-paced work environment where you will be responsible for developing relationships and new business opportunities within your territory. You will be expected to meet assigned revenue targets and adhere to all Account Manager guidelines. In this role, you will be responsible for attaining sales goals through effective territory management, which includes communicating promotions, taking customer orders, and assisting with returns. You will also act as a business consultant, monitor accounts receivable, and collaborate with management to support education initiatives in your territory. Timely communication and follow-up with team members and customers are essential, as is maintaining accurate records in systems like NetSuite and Salesforce. You will be expected to maintain excellent customer service, respond to inquiries promptly, and develop a structured sales route visiting approximately 50 salons each week. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, both written and oral, and be able to establish rapport with customers and coworkers. You should be self-directed, a positive team player, and willing to travel 70-80% of the time, including overnight trips. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required, along with an active cell phone plan. Responsibilities

  • Meet or exceed annual sales goals for territory.
  • Promote education in your market place.
  • Manage assigned sample account and sales budget account in a timely and effective manner.
  • Communicate promotions to customers and take customer orders.
  • Assist with returns and help reconcile issues.
  • Act as a business consultant and monitor for diversion.
  • Maintain accounts receivable within terms.
  • Collaborate with management on education support needs in territory.
  • Schedule and conduct education classes as necessary.
  • Maintain excellent customer service and respond to inquiries within 24 hours.
  • Develop and adhere to a structured sales route visiting 50 salons a week.
  • Attend and be on time to all monthly sales meetings, trainings, and appointments.
  • Timely communication and follow-up with all team members and customers.
  • Maintain accurate updated account and territory records in NetSuite and/or Salesforce.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.
  • At least 2 years of outside sales experience with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Salesforce.
  • Excellent communication skills, including listening, written, oral, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to establish rapport and respond to questions from managers, customers, and coworkers.
  • Strong customer service skills and good product knowledge.
  • Basic accounting knowledge and ability to apply concepts.
  • Self-directed and a positive team player.
  • Valid driver's license and car insurance with reliable transportation.
  • Active cell phone plan with a minimum of 1000 minutes.
