About the position

Clegg's Pest Control is seeking an Outside Sales Inspector to join our dynamic sales team in Charlotte, NC. This full-time position offers a competitive salary ranging from $35,000 to $65,000 per year, with the potential for additional earnings through commissions. The role is designed for individuals who are eager to learn and grow within the pest control industry, and while previous experience is preferred, it is not a strict requirement. We provide a comprehensive 90-day paid training program, during which new hires will receive $3,000 per month to ensure they are well-prepared for their responsibilities. As an Outside Sales Inspector, you will be responsible for selling termite control protection and renewals, as well as monthly pest control protection services to residential customers and prospects. Your role will involve conducting thorough inspections to identify infestations or conditions conducive to pest issues, allowing you to make informed proposals and presentations to secure sales contracts. You will cover sales leads in your assigned branch and creatively develop additional service and pest control sales leads from each respective lead provided. In addition to sales responsibilities, you will be tasked with recording accurate measurements and writing detailed descriptions of the properties inspected. You will prepare appropriate specifications and treatment instructions in accordance with existing laws, regulations, and company policies. It is essential to compute job-treating costs based on company pricing instructions and execute contracts on behalf of the company while adhering to company policies regarding credit terms of sale. Customer satisfaction is paramount, and you will be expected to follow up with customers after service is performed to ensure their needs are met and to identify additional prospects. Maintaining a professional appearance and the cleanliness of your equipment, vehicle, and personal safety gear is crucial. You will also need to possess relevant licenses as required by federal, state, or local regulations for termite and pest control. This position requires physical stamina, as you will be on your feet and may need to maneuver in crawl spaces under various weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Sell termite control protection and renewals, and/or monthly pest control protection to residential and prospects.
• Conduct inspections to identify infestations or conditions conducive to infestations of insects or other vertebrate pests, for making proposals and presentations to obtain sales contracts.
• Cover sales leads in assigned branch and develop multiple additional service and/or pest control sales leads creatively for each respective lead furnished.
• Record accurate measurements and write correct descriptions of property inspected.
• Prepare appropriate specifications and treating instructions in accordance with existing laws, regulations and company policy.
• Compute job-treating cost from company pricing instructions.
• Execute contracts on behalf of the company, observing company policy as to credit terms of sale.
• Deal courteously with customers, leaving customer's premises and furnishings clean and as found.
• Contact customers after service is performed to ensure customer satisfaction and to develop additional prospects.
• Maintain appearance of uniform as directed by company policy.
• Maintain equipment, vehicle and personal safety equipment in clean, working order.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education diploma (GED).
• Must have a clean driving record and be able to pass a criminal background check & drug test.
• Previous outside sales experience preferred.
• Previous pest control experience and familiarity with pest control methods and equipment is preferred but not required.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
• Ability to draw and interpret graphs.
• Skill in creating sales leads and cross-selling company products and services.
• Physical ability to be on your feet and maneuver in crawl spaces in various weather conditions.
• Maintains relevant licenses as required by federal, state or local regulations for termite/pest control.
