About the position

The Outside Sales Representative (OSR) at Emser Tile LLC plays a crucial role in driving sales volume and maintaining strong relationships with both existing and new clientele. This position involves working closely with builders, designers, general contractors, and other decision-makers throughout the sales and installation process. The OSR is responsible for identifying and establishing relationships with new clients while also nurturing existing accounts. This role requires a proactive approach to sales, as the representative will travel throughout the assigned territory to engage with regular and prospective customers, ensuring that the company's goals and directives are met while working independently. In addition to building and promoting long-lasting customer relationships, the OSR will provide industry-leading service by processing orders and credits promptly. The representative will also set up and maintain client displays and merchandising samples, emphasizing new product promotions during sales calls and onsite visits. A deep understanding of Emser's product offerings is essential, as the OSR will need to respond to market demands and provide value through knowledgeable representation and quick follow-up. Staying informed about competing markets and providing reports on market movement and penetration is also a key responsibility. Successful candidates will thrive in a competitive and dynamic sales environment, driven to meet sales goals and enjoy the benefits of variable compensation programs that reward exceeding sales plans. The role requires flexibility, strong organizational skills, and a proven history of servicing multiple accounts while consistently achieving and exceeding sales targets. Responsibilities

  • Identifies and establishes relationships with new and existing clientele.
  • Travels throughout assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers.
  • Works independently yet cooperatively with the company and team's goals and directives.
  • Provides industry-leading service to customers by processing orders and credits promptly.
  • Builds and promotes strong, long-lasting customer relationships by partnering with them and understanding their needs.
  • Sets up and maintains client displays and merchandising samples.
  • Emphasizes new product promotion during sales calls and onsite visits/meetings.
  • Develops in-depth knowledge and expertise with regard to all Emser products.
  • Responds to the marketplace by providing value through being a knowledgeable rep with quick follow up.
  • Stays abreast of competing markets and provides reports on market movement and penetration.
  • Attends and participates in trade and industry events to increase client knowledge of Emser.

Requirements

  • Successful track record in an outside sales environment (preferably within the flooring or building materials industry).
  • Solid analytical skills in identifying client needs and aligning them to product offerings.
  • Demonstrated expertise in the principles of collaborative sales technique.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and maintain positive relationships with all Emser clients, customers, and influencers (internal and external).
  • Ability to analyze market conditions and competition and develop strategic responses to opportunities.
  • Listening skills, communication skills, energy, enthusiasm, and endurance.
  • Must be flexible to maximize business opportunities as they arise.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment is essential.
  • College B.A. / B.S. degree preferred.
