About the position

As an Outside Sales Representative/Account Manager at Spectrum, you will play a crucial role in connecting people and communities by offering best-in-class telecommunication services. This position involves door-to-door solicitation of new prospective customers, where you will actively engage with potential clients to understand their needs and present tailored solutions. Your primary focus will be on acquiring new residential customers through proactive outreach and consultative sales techniques. You will be responsible for conducting needs analyses, developing sales presentations, and accurately completing all necessary paperwork to support your sales activities. This role offers uncapped earning potential, allowing you to maximize your income based on your efforts and achievements. In addition to sales responsibilities, you will participate in team meetings and training programs to enhance your skills and contribute to team goals. Achieving monthly sales quotas in high-speed data, mobile, landline phone, and video sales will be a key performance indicator for your success. You will also need to stay informed about competitors' activities in your assigned territory and report any changes in pricing or marketing strategies to your manager. This position requires a strong personal drive to succeed, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently in various environments, including outdoor settings in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Actively supports efforts to enhance the customer experience.
  • Acquires new residential customers through door-to-door contact.
  • Conducts proactive consultative needs analysis with prospective customers.
  • Develops and presents sales presentations/proposals on products and services.
  • Completes necessary paperwork to support sales activities, including entering sales orders and reporting on sales.
  • Participates in all sales meetings and training programs as assigned.
  • Achieves monthly sales quotas in high-speed data, mobile, landline phone, and video sales.
  • Completes administrative tasks related to products sold in accordance with department practices.
  • Informs manager of competitors' activities and changing pricing programs.
  • Attends and completes training programs as required.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
  • Engaging interpersonal skills and ability to listen effectively.
  • Ability to formulate needs-based sales strategies and articulate pitches.
  • Strong personal drive to succeed in sales.
  • Ability to travel to assigned territories using a reliable personal vehicle.
  • Familiarity with computer operating systems and software applications.
  • Valid driver's license, car insurance, and satisfactory driving record.
  • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent work experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Success in a previous sales position, prospecting, or cold calling.
  • Knowledge of cable or telecommunications services, especially data networking fundamentals.
