About the position

The Outside Sales Representative/Account Manager position at Maryland Biochemical Company focuses on selling Bioaugmentation products to municipal and industrial wastewater facilities in Kentucky and West Virginia. The role requires a motivated individual who can maintain existing business relationships while also generating new accounts through effective sales strategies and customer engagement. Responsibilities

• Maintain business through regular customer visits and provide onsite technical assistance.
• Generate new business in your territory through prospecting, cold calling, networking, and relationship building.
• Develop a sales plan for assigned territory, segmenting based on travel schedule to qualify and prioritize opportunities.
• Allocate time effectively, develop and qualify leads for prospective customers, prepare proposals, and perform necessary follow-up for successful closing of sales.
• Complete call reports, expense reports, and customer records.
• Participate in trade shows.

Requirements

• Self-motivator with good organizational skills.
• Experience in outside sales or wastewater treatment plant work is a plus.
• Good communication skills in person and on the phone, with strong written skills.
• Dedication to learning market and product knowledge.
• Ability to travel throughout the territory daily, with 1-2 overnight trips per week typical.
• Computer knowledge in Word, Excel, and Outlook is required.
• Willingness to continue studying to become proficient in products and applications.
