About the position

The Outside Sales Representative/Account Manager position at Maryland Biochemical Company focuses on selling Bioaugmentation products to municipal and industrial wastewater facilities in Kentucky and West Virginia. The role requires a motivated individual who can maintain existing business relationships while also generating new accounts through effective sales strategies and customer engagement. The company offers support through marketing, training, and necessary supplies to help the representative succeed in their territory.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain business through regular customer visits and provide onsite technical assistance.
  • Generate new business in your territory through prospecting, cold calling, networking, and relationship building.
  • Develop a sales plan for assigned territory, segmenting based on travel schedule to qualify and prioritize opportunities.
  • Allocate time effectively, develop and qualify leads for prospective customers, prepare proposals, and perform necessary follow-up for successful closing of sales.
  • Complete call reports, expense reports, and customer records.
  • Participate in trade shows.

Requirements

  • Self-motivator with good organizational skills.
  • Experience in outside sales or wastewater treatment plant work is a plus.
  • Good communication skills in person and on the phone, with strong written skills.
  • Dedication to learning market and product knowledge.
  • Ability to travel throughout the territory daily, with 1-2 overnight trips per week typical.
  • Computer knowledge in Word, Excel, and Outlook is required.
  • Willingness to continue studying to become proficient in products and applications.
