About the position

As an Outside Sales Representative for Belgard, you will play a crucial role in driving the sales function of the Belgard Hardscapes product line and its related accessories. Your primary responsibilities will include maintaining existing customer relationships, generating new leads, and creating business opportunities through diligent research and development efforts, including cold calling. You will be tasked with increasing customer orders and developing strong relationships with clients while providing exceptional customer service. Your efforts will directly contribute to the growth of company revenue by maximizing sales within your assigned territory. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining effective relationships with current customers, which is essential for driving increased sales and revenue. You will need to be responsive to customer inquiries, which may include delivering product samples promptly. Identifying and prospecting new customers will be a key part of your responsibilities, as will identifying potential projects that can utilize the Belgard product line. You will also develop and maintain relationships with landscape architects, civil engineers, and interior designers to secure project specifications that lead to future sales opportunities. Your role will require you to grow and manage a pipeline of opportunities for future territory growth. You will work closely with customers and contractors to devise effective sales strategies, analyze market trends, and develop action plans to capitalize on shifts in the market. Additionally, you will be responsible for quoting prices, preparing sales contracts, and managing your business through our contact manager, SalesForce. This position demands a high sense of urgency and an entrepreneurial spirit, as you will be expected to take ownership of your performance and seek out additional responsibilities as needed. You will also be required to maintain a detailed understanding of your customers, including their preferences and interests, to foster deeper relationships and drive sales success.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain effective relationships with current customers to increase sales and revenue.
  • Respond urgently to customer needs and inquiries, including delivering samples.
  • Identify and prospect for new customers and projects to utilize the Belgard line.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with landscape architects, architects, civil engineers, and interior designers to obtain project specifications.
  • Grow and manage opportunity/pipeline for future territory growth.
  • Work closely with customers and contractors to develop sales strategies.
  • Analyze market trends and develop action plans to capitalize on shifts in the market.
  • Quote prices, credit terms, and prepare sales contracts for orders obtained.
  • Manage business through SalesForce contact manager.
  • Conduct Lunch & Learn training sessions with installation contractor customers and design professionals.
  • Respond to customer complaints within 48 hours and create cases in SalesForce when necessary.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated sense of urgency and entrepreneurial qualities in managing work territory.
  • Proven ability to achieve sales results through new and existing customers.
  • Strong ownership and accountability for personal performance.
  • Timely communication with customers via calls, emails, and texts.
  • Ability to build and maintain intimate knowledge of customers' businesses and interests.
  • Proficient in using SalesForce for tracking and managing opportunities.
  • Fluency in work applications such as ComActivity and Lawson.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the construction or landscaping industry.
