About the position

The Outside Sales Representative for Board and Panel products at Richelieu is responsible for managing sales activities and relationships with cabinet and furniture manufacturers within a designated territory. This role emphasizes consultative sales, where the representative acts as a business advisor to customers, helping them enhance their business results through Richelieu's product solutions. The position requires regular travel to meet customers in person and involves a strong focus on customer service and relationship building.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day sales activities towards cabinet and furniture manufacturers in the territory.
  • Increase sales of Board and Panel products through direct selling and partnerships.
  • Schedule and conduct face-to-face meetings with new and existing customers to understand their business needs.
  • Maintain accountability for territory growth through new customer acquisition and development of existing relationships.
  • Analyze past buying patterns of current accounts to strengthen supplier relationships.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, positioning Richelieu as a one-stop shop for customers.
  • Stay updated on Richelieu's product offerings and market conditions.
  • Manage system information and reporting in CRM applications.
  • Travel regularly to meet customers in the field, requiring reliable transportation.

Requirements

  • Successful outside sales experience with wood panels, laminates, and boards, preferably in the kitchen and/or bath space.
  • Strong work ethic, proactive attitude, and coachability.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and deliver results-oriented activities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical, planning, organizing, and monitoring skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software is an asset.
  • University degree preferred, but not required.

  • Experience in the kitchen and bath industry.
  • Familiarity with competitive analysis in the market.
