About the position

The Outside Sales Representative position in Wichita focuses on generating and securing sales of building materials with both new and existing customers. They will also estimate materials based on blueprints provided by customers and resolve any complaints or issues that arise. The representative will assist in accounts receivable collection and participate in training sessions as required. This position may also involve other assigned duties that contribute to the overall success of the sales team and the company. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment, balancing indoor and outdoor work settings while engaging with clients. The role demands effective communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to interpret various forms of instructions. Responsibilities

  • Promote, sell, and secure new accounts.
  • Facilitate customer product selection.
  • Service existing accounts with necessary custom products, time, and information.
  • Assist with product selection best suited to customer needs.
  • Prepare, coordinate, and communicate price quotations, sale terms, delivery dates, and service obligations to customers/contractors.
  • Estimate materials from blue prints provided by customers/contractors.
  • Resolve customer complaints and issues.
  • Assist in accounts receivable collection.
  • Attend and participate in training, when required.
  • Perform other assigned duties, responsibilities, or tasks.

Requirements

  • Complete and pass a drug, alcohol, background screen and Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
  • Speak, write, and communicate effectively in the English language.
  • Work a flexible schedule, including weekends.
  • Interpret written, oral, diagrams, and schedule-form instructions.
  • Calculate figures and amounts (i.e., discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, etc.).
  • Utilize Microsoft Office products (i.e. Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Learn and utilize Envisioneer™ software.
