About the position

JASPER Engines & Transmissions, the nation's leader in re-manufactured engines and transmissions, has been thriving since 1942 by working hard and having fun. We are seeking an Outside Sales Representative to help us on our journey to become the Brand of Choice for our Customers and the Employer of Choice for Associate-Owners. The Outside Sales Representative will serve as a face of the company, focusing on cultivating business with customers in the Galesburg, Monmouth, and Moline area of Illinois, as well as Burlington, Davenport, Cedar Rapids, and Waterloo area of Iowa (Territory 516). This position requires the candidate to live within the designated territory. The role involves calling on independent repair facilities, local fleets, city and government entities, marinas, and national accounts. The successful candidate will utilize a proven system of selling, supported by marketing materials, to develop and implement plans that capitalize on all sales opportunities for assigned customers in the territory. Responsibilities include performing needs assessments, developing sales proposals and presentations, and working collaboratively with cross-functional teams such as inside sales, customer service, production, and distribution. The representative will also be responsible for planning and managing accounts, introducing new products and updates, and building long-term, value-based relationships with clients. A strong focus on prospecting to grow the business is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the face of the company and cultivate business with customers in the assigned territory.
  • Call on independent repair facilities, local fleets, city and government entities, marinas, and national accounts.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of sales experience or a degree in a related field.
  • Hunter sales mentality with a motivation as a self-starter.
  • Automotive background or knowledge is preferred.
  • Integrity and honesty in all dealings.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in working with small businesses and regional managers of large worldwide fleets.
