About the position

Oak Ridge Waste and Recycling in Danbury, CT is seeking a results-driven Outside Sales Representative to actively seek out and engage customer prospects within the CT/NY territory. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing complete and appropriate solutions for every customer, aiming to boost top-line revenue growth, customer acquisition levels, and overall profitability. This role requires a proactive approach to sales, with a strong emphasis on building and maintaining positive business relationships with clients in the waste and recycling industry. The Outside Sales Representative will be tasked with presenting, promoting, and selling products and services using solid arguments to both existing and prospective customers. A critical part of the role involves performing cost-benefit and needs analysis of existing and potential customers to ensure their needs are met effectively. The representative will also be responsible for reaching out to customer leads through cold calling, expediting the resolution of customer problems and complaints to maximize satisfaction, and achieving agreed-upon sales targets and outcomes within the designated schedule. In addition to these responsibilities, the representative will coordinate sales efforts with team members and other departments, analyze the territory and market potential, track sales and status reports, and supply management with reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services. Keeping abreast of best practices and promotional trends is essential, as is a commitment to continuous improvement through feedback.

Responsibilities

  • Present, promote and sell products/services using solid arguments to existing and prospective customers
  • Perform cost-benefit and needs analysis of existing/potential customers to meet their needs
  • Establish, develop and maintain positive business and customer relationships
  • Reach out to customer leads through cold calling
  • Expedite the resolution of customer problems and complaints to maximize satisfaction
  • Achieve agreed upon sales targets and outcomes within schedule
  • Coordinate sales effort with team members and other departments
  • Analyze the territory/market's potential, track sales and status reports

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of sales experience in the waste and recycling industry or industrial sales
  • Proven work experience as a sales representative
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office
  • Familiarity with BRM and CRM practices
  • Ability to build productive business professional relationships
  • Highly motivated and target driven with a proven track record in sales
  • Excellent selling, communication and negotiation skills
  • Prioritizing, time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to create and deliver presentations tailored to the audience needs
  • Relationship management skills and openness to feedback
  • BS/BA degree or equivalent

Nice-to-haves
