About the position

The Outside Sales Representative at Mr. Greens Produce is responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with clients in the food and produce industry. This role involves planning and organizing daily work schedules to target existing and potential sales outlets, providing product information, and resolving customer complaints. The representative will also analyze market trends and sales data to recommend changes in products and services, ensuring customer satisfaction and driving sales growth.

Responsibilities

  • Establish new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedules to call on existing or potential sales outlets.
  • Focus sales efforts by studying the existing and potential volume of accounts.
  • Submit orders by referring to price lists and product literature.
  • Answer customers' questions about products, prices, availability, and product uses.
  • Provide product information and practical training to customer personnel.
  • Submit activity and results reports such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analyses.
  • Stay up to date on trends by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, delivery schedules, merchandising techniques, etc.
  • Recommend changes in products, services, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments.
  • Resolve customer complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, preparing reports, and making recommendations to the management team.
  • Attend and participate in sales and district meetings.
  • Communicate and collect accounts receivable as necessary, working with the credit department and client; collect all balances due based on approved credit terms.
  • Communicate and assist the Transportation department in preparing client delivery windows as needed; troubleshoot specific challenges that occur during the order process.
  • Review and analyze daily and weekly reports such as special-order requests, customer bid files, and sales/gross profit margin data.

Requirements

  • 2 years of outside business-to-business sales experience in the Food and/or Produce Industry.
  • High school diploma required.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and time management skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Basic PC skills, proficiency in Excel, experience with MS Outlook.
  • Must pass pre-employment background and drug screen testing.
  • Bilingual: English / Spanish preferred.
  • Must live in the Dallas area.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
