About the position

Mr. Greens has proudly grown into one of the largest privately-owned produce distributors in Texas and Florida. With deliveries 365 days a year, 7 days a week, and multiple runs per day, Mr. Greens has set the gold standard for service. The Outside Sales Representative will be responsible for establishing new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedules to call on existing or potential sales outlets and other trade factors. This role requires a focus on sales efforts by studying the existing and potential volume of accounts, submitting orders by referring to price lists and product literature, and answering customers' questions about products, prices, availability, and product uses. The representative will provide product information and practical training to customer personnel, submit activity and results reports such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analyses. Staying up to date on trends by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, delivery schedules, merchandising techniques, etc., is crucial. The role also involves recommending changes in products, services, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments, resolving customer complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, preparing reports, and making recommendations to the management team. Additionally, the Outside Sales Representative will attend and participate in sales and district meetings, communicate and collect accounts receivable as necessary, and assist the Transportation department in preparing client delivery windows as needed. The representative will also review and analyze daily and weekly reports such as special-order requests, customer bid files, and sales/gross profit margin data. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Focus sales efforts by studying the existing and potential volume of accounts.
  • Submit orders by referring to price lists and product literature.
  • Answer customers' questions about products, prices, availability, and product uses.

  • Submit activity and results reports such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analyses.
  • Stay up to date on trends by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, delivery schedules, merchandising techniques, etc.
  • Recommend changes in products, services, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments.
  • Resolve customer complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, preparing reports, and making recommendations to the management team.
  • Attend and participate in sales and district meetings.
  • Communicate and collect accounts receivable as necessary, working with the credit department and client; collect all balances due based on approved credit terms.
  • Assist the Transportation department in preparing client delivery windows as needed; troubleshoot specific challenges that occur during the order process.
  • Review and analyze daily and weekly reports such as special-order requests, customer bid files, and sales/gross profit margin data.

Requirements

  • 2 years of outside business-to-business sales experience in the Food and/or Produce Industry.
  • High school diploma required.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and time management skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Basic PC skills, proficiency in Excel, experience with MS Outlook.
  • Must pass pre-employment background and drug screen testing.
  • Bilingual: English / Spanish preferred.
  • Must live in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex area.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
