About the position

The Outside Sales Representative II at Builders FirstSource plays a crucial role in representing the company throughout the sales process. The representative will spend a significant portion of their time away from the office, making sales calls and securing orders or contracts for the company's products and services. This includes understanding client needs, analyzing industry competition, and effectively demonstrating the features and benefits of the company's offerings. The representative will also be responsible for taking measurements and collecting specification information directly at the customer's site, ensuring that they have a comprehensive understanding of the customer's requirements. This knowledge will enable them to match customer needs with the appropriate company products and services. Additionally, the Outside Sales Representative II will plan and conduct sales presentations tailored to both current and prospective customers. This involves designing professional presentations that clearly articulate how the company's products and services can meet specific customer needs. The representative will also be tasked with resolving any issues that arise during the sales process, either by addressing them directly or by coordinating with the appropriate internal staff for resolution. Overall, this role is vital for driving sales growth and enhancing customer satisfaction within the company.

Responsibilities

  • Researches, identifies and solicits new customers.
  • Generates sales opportunities through research on client needs, industry competition and effective demonstration of the features and benefits of company products and services.
  • Takes measurements and collects specification information at the customer's site.
  • Develops understanding of customer's needs and matches those needs with company products and services.
  • Effectively plans and conducts sales presentations for current and prospective customers.
  • Designs professional presentations of company products and services and provides clarification of how we can meet their specific needs.
  • Resolves issues or hands them off to the appropriate employee for resolution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Sales, Marketing or related field.
  • Two (2) years industry sales experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
