About the position

The Sales Representative at Builders FirstSource plays a crucial role in representing the company during the sales process. This position involves collecting data on customer needs and design specifications, soliciting new customers, generating sales, and acting as a liaison between the inside design staff, production staff, and customers in developing sales proposals. The Sales Representative will spend the majority of their daily activities away from the employer's place of business, making sales calls and obtaining orders or contracts for services and products. In this role, the Sales Representative is responsible for researching, identifying, and soliciting new customers. They will generate sales opportunities through thorough research on client needs, industry competition, and effective demonstrations of the features and benefits of the company's products and services. Additionally, the Sales Representative will take measurements and collect specification information at the customer's site, developing a deep understanding of the customer's needs and matching those needs with the company's offerings. The position requires effective planning and conducting of sales presentations for both current and prospective customers. The Sales Representative will design professional presentations of the company's products and services, providing clarification on how these can meet the specific needs of the customers. Furthermore, they will be responsible for resolving issues or directing them to the appropriate employee for resolution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Sales, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Two (2) years of industry sales experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
