About the position

The Outside Sales Representative III at Builders FirstSource is a pivotal role that requires a deep understanding of the sales process and the ability to effectively represent the company to its largest and most complex customers. This position is primarily focused on building relationships and generating sales opportunities through direct engagement with clients. The representative will spend the majority of their time away from the office, making sales calls and securing orders or contracts for the company's products and services. In addition to direct sales responsibilities, the Outside Sales Representative III will also play a crucial role in mentoring and training less experienced sales staff. The representative will be responsible for researching and identifying new customer opportunities, leveraging insights about client needs and industry competition to drive sales. They will also be tasked with generating sales contracts for a variety of projects, including residential, multi-family, and commercial developments. Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates in-depth knowledge and skills to represent the company with complex customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Sales, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Two (2) years of industry sales experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of sales processes and customer relationship management.
  • Ability to handle complex or highly specialized customer requirements.
