About the position

As an Outside Sales Representative for Industrial Instrumentation at FCX Performance, you will play a crucial role in establishing and expanding relationships with both current and prospective customers. Your primary focus will be on driving aggressive closure of sales opportunities through various techniques such as regular sales calls, cold-calling, industry networking, and leveraging customer recommendations. Every action you take should be aimed at closing deals, securing contracts, and ultimately driving sales growth to generate revenue for the company. In this position, you will be responsible for developing and delivering sales and marketing proposals for technical products and services in a professional manner. You will make presentations to Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), users, suppliers, and other stakeholders, and deliver technical presentations, product demonstrations, workshops, and lunch & learns to enhance customer engagement. Building and maintaining strong relationships with Engineers, Contractors, and Industrial Clients will be essential to promote ongoing business partnerships. Your approach to managing your sales territory will require strategic planning and organization. You will need to plan sales calls effectively to maximize customer face time each day and utilize social networks like LinkedIn to track current and potential customers, network with contacts, and conduct research on new customers. Developing strategic plans and accurate forecasts for your sales territory and assigned accounts will be critical, using previous sales data, industry insights, and market trends. Providing outstanding customer service is paramount, and you will be expected to respond to customer needs 24/7. You will maintain sales records, pipeline reporting, and generate relevant sales and market reports on a quarterly and annual basis. Active participation in weekly, quarterly, and annual sales meetings will also be part of your responsibilities. Staying informed about the industries served and the products and services offered, as well as tracking industry trends and technical developments, will be essential for your success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Develop strategic plans and accurate forecasts for sales territory and assigned accounts.
  • Provide outstanding customer service and respond to customer needs 24/7.
  • Maintain sales records, pipeline reporting, and generate sales and market reports.
  • Participate in weekly, quarterly, and annual sales meetings.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the industries served and products offered.
  • Track industry trends and technical developments affecting target markets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in Industrial Distribution, Engineering & Management, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering, or Sales/Marketing; equivalent experience may be substituted for degree requirement.
  • Minimum 3+ years' experience in Outside Sales/Account Manager/Territory Manager role within the industrial marketplace required.
  • Strong technical/industry knowledge to build upon.
  • Self-motivated and aggressive in sales tactics and strategies.
  • Strong computer proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Excellent internal and external communication, problem-solving, and presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational and task management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while being organized, detail-oriented, and deadline-oriented.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience with Prophet21 (P21) highly desired.
