About the position

The Outside Sales Representative position at our fast-paced industrial and oilfield supply company involves engaging with clients across various sectors, including upstream, midstream, downstream, and petrochemical industries. The role is centered around providing a wide range of products and custom solutions tailored to meet the specific needs of our clients. As an Outside Sales Representative, you will be responsible for overseeing client needs from the initial quote to the final delivery, ensuring that all aspects of the sales process are handled efficiently and effectively. In this role, you will identify prospective clients and opportunities to increase margins and market share. Routine client visits will be essential to develop and maintain strong relationships, which are crucial for long-term success in this position. You will also assist inside sales and management with various sales functions, leveraging your network through industry peers and social events to enhance business opportunities. The position requires a minimum of two years of experience in sales, particularly in areas related to PVF (Pipes, Valves, and Fittings), HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene) pipe applications, and safety and environmental standards. You will need to be well-organized, detail-oriented, and possess strong communication skills to build rapport with clients and accurately facilitate their needs. The ability to manage multiple responsibilities and prioritize tasks effectively is crucial, as is being self-managed and competent in basic computer programs and typing skills.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee client needs from quote to delivery.
  • Identify prospective clients and opportunities to increase margins and market share.
  • Conduct routine client visits to develop and maintain relationships.
  • Assist inside sales and management with sales functions.
  • Network through industry peers and industry social events.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in outside sales, preferably in industrial supplies or related fields.
  • Competence in materials related to PVF, HDPE pipe applications, and safety/environmental standards.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with clients to build rapport and facilitate their needs.
  • Experience in customer service, inside sales, or warehouse services with increasing responsibility.

Nice-to-haves

  • Demonstrated competence in the use of computers and software applications.
  • Previous sales experience selling value-added products/services, preferably in the commercial construction or PVF industry.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Professional image and strong time management skills.
