About the position

As a W.B. Mason Market Development Specialist, you will play a crucial role in expanding our customer base and introducing new categories of business. Your primary responsibility will be to enroll new customers by effectively presenting W.B. Mason's extensive web capabilities, catalogs, flyers, and a full range of products. This position requires a proactive approach to sales, where you will travel throughout assigned marketplaces to engage with prospective customers, ensuring they are well-informed about our offerings and how they can benefit their businesses. In this role, you will be expected to distribute marketing materials to both current and prospective clients, demonstrating merchandise to enhance their product knowledge. You will also be responsible for quoting and providing contracted pricing as necessary, ensuring that customers receive the best possible service. Building and maintaining strong working relationships with new customers is essential, particularly during the onboarding process, to guarantee their satisfaction and success with our products. Collaboration is key in this position, as you will work closely with Inside Sales specialists to convert lists of prospective customer sales leads into actual sales. You will perform necessary account setups via MasonvilleGO, facilitating a seamless transition of accounts to the account management team. Regular attendance at weekly Branch Sales Meetings will be required to stay updated on sales strategies and company goals. Additionally, you will be expected to perform all other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the sales team.

Responsibilities

  • Travel, by car and/or walking, throughout assigned marketplaces to call on prospective customers to develop as clientele.
  • Distribute marketing material to current and prospective clients.
  • Display or demonstrate merchandise to develop customers' product knowledge.
  • Quote and provide contracted pricing as necessary.
  • Develop and maintain an outstanding working relationship with new customers to ensure customer satisfaction during the onboarding process.
  • Collaborate with Inside Sales specialists on converting lists of prospective customer sales leads.
  • Perform necessary account setup via MasonvilleGO to ensure customer success.
  • Seamlessly transition accounts to account management team.
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with Inside Sales, customers, and distribution staff.
  • Attend weekly Branch Sales Meetings.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Ability to converse, read & write in English
  • Bachelor's Degree (BS or BA) from a four-year college preferred, but not required.
