About the position

The Sales Representative at Oldcastle Infrastructure is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with customers in the precast concrete products sector. This role involves achieving sales goals, creating sales strategies, and increasing sales volume and profit margins in the assigned region. The position requires a proactive approach to sales, strong business acumen, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with internal teams.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Area Sales Manager in developing strategy and tactics to achieve sales goals and profitability.
  • Establish short and long-term goals and strategies for key clients and prospects.
  • Develop specific action plans to achieve sales goals.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis including demand forecasting and competitor capabilities.
  • Meet specific sales volumes and profit margin goals.
  • Participate in industry-related associations to build networking and business relationships.
  • Develop and maintain relationships within the engineering community to get products specified on projects.
  • Identify and assist in the bid process and development of bid strategies.
  • Conduct negotiations with suppliers and vendors as needed.
  • Partner with in-house departments to ensure high levels of customer service.
  • Communicate with the sales team to manage and coordinate sales across geographic boundaries.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years in civil infrastructure construction, precast concrete manufacturing sales, or similar product sales.
  • Strong business acumen and knowledge of current and future industry trends.
  • Ability to read and interpret civil design and engineering production drawings.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 75%+ throughout the sales region.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with customers.
  • Proactive, action-oriented, and results-driven.
  • Experience with technical sales to engineers and specifying agencies is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record.
