The Outside Sales Representative (OSR) at Dunn-Edwards is tasked with managing a diverse territory that includes both existing customers and potential prospects. In this role, the OSR will establish and maintain strong working relationships with clients, demonstrating a commitment to being their preferred business partner. Each OSR is responsible for developing and implementing an annual territory business plan that outlines strategies for increasing sales and growing profit margins. The OSR will employ aggressive hunting techniques to consistently bring in new customers and business, ensuring that every account in their portfolio is actively managed. The ultimate goal is to position Dunn-Edwards as the number one choice for customers seeking paint products and related supplies. Collaboration is key in this position, as the OSR will work closely with various departments within the company, including sales support, customer service, and store teams, to enhance sales and service efforts. They should possess excellent customer service skills and be capable of functioning both autonomously and as part of a team. Responsibilities

  • Manage a diverse territory of customers and prospects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A., B.S., B.E.) from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • 1-2 years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business documents and technical procedures.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to calculate figures such as discounts, interest, and profitability using basic algebra and geometry.
  • Problem-solving skills to deal with practical issues and interpret instructions.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in sales within the paint or construction industry.
  • Familiarity with MS Office applications.
