About the position

The Outside Sales Representative (OSR) is responsible for driving sales growth and profitability through the development of account relationships, with a focus on new business development. The OSR will work closely with the Regional Pro Sales Manager to monitor key performance indicators and ensure financial performance meets or exceeds expectations. This role involves understanding customer satisfaction to inform local strategies and improve competitive positioning.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in district/regional meetings and communicate weekly activities with the Pro Sales Manager.
  • Drive incremental sales growth by cultivating business relationships with assigned customer portfolios and prospecting for new business.
  • Partner with Pro Account Expeditor to enhance the customer experience in quoting, ordering, and transactions.
  • Represent The Home Depot Pro brand at local community events to drive new business.
  • Complete a minimum of 10 sales call appointments per week to establish effective partnerships with assigned customers.
  • Utilize Salesforce to manage customer communications and maintain a healthy sales pipeline.
  • Conduct initial customer meetings to build relationships and sell The Home Depot value proposition.
  • Prospect for new business using leads from the internal Sales Development team and generated in the field.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2 years of account management or sales management experience preferred.
  • 5 years of professional work experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong leadership and negotiation skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • 2 plus years of experience in the home improvement or home building industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and cultivate an active network of relationships.
  • Deep understanding of Pro customer needs and ability to tailor communications accordingly.
