The Outside Sales Representative at 4 Horn Industrial is a pivotal role focused on establishing and nurturing customer relationships in the field. This position requires the application of active sales techniques and collaboration with various team members to ensure customer satisfaction and achieve profitability goals set by management. The representative will be responsible for coordinating sales support efforts and maintaining a high level of service to meet the needs of customers effectively. In this role, the Outside Sales Representative will work closely with Sales Coordinators and Branch Management to manage the inventory of rental equipment and accessories, ensuring timely deliveries and pickups. The representative will actively promote new business opportunities through daily interactions with customers, gathering feedback on their satisfaction, and following up to ensure their needs are met. Maintaining professional and ethical relationships with customers and co-workers is essential, adhering to the company's established policies and procedures. Continuous learning about the company's products, inventory, pricing, and delivery capabilities is crucial for success in this position. The representative will be expected to meet sales revenue and profit margin targets on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. Participation in weekly and quarterly sales meetings is also required, where the representative will share competitive insights and local industry trends. Other tasks and duties may be assigned by management as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain relationships with customers in the field and work locations.
  • Apply active sales techniques and coordinate sales support efforts with other team members.
  • Work with Sales Coordinators and Branch Management to coordinate rental equipment inventory, deliveries, and pickups.
  • Promote new business through daily customer contact, assessing their needs and soliciting feedback on satisfaction.
  • Manage established procedures to ensure compliance with company and client policies, including safety and confidentiality.
  • Maintain professional and ethical business relationships with customers and co-workers.
  • Continuously grow knowledge of company products, inventory, pricing, and delivery capabilities.
  • Ensure sales revenue, profit margin, and customer objectives are met on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Participate in weekly and quarterly sales meetings, providing competitive information and local industry trends.
  • Perform other tasks and duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent sales experience.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to travel locally and regionally.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment, prioritizing and accomplishing goals.
  • Solid computer skills.

  • Knowledge of company industry, products, and markets.
  • 3 to 5 years of outside sales experience, preferably in the rental industry.
