About the position

Linde Gas & Equipment Inc. is seeking a results-driven Outside Sales Representative (Territory Manager) to join our team in Des Moines, IA. In this role, you will be responsible for generating and pursuing leads, building and maintaining strong customer relationships, and promoting and selling welding and industrial gas products and services. The position primarily involves meeting existing and future customers face-to-face and traveling to various customer locations within a designated territory. Your sales expertise will be leveraged to drive profitability and achieve sales objectives within the organization. As an Outside Sales Representative, you will serve as a strategic partner to develop and sustain long-lasting relationships with existing and prospective customers through effective negotiation. You will identify sales strategies to meet targets that promote long-term profitability and develop and execute evidence-based sales plans to meet objectives. Regular travel to businesses will be required to conduct sales presentations, and you will need to deliver messages in a clear, compelling, and concise manner that helps to resolve clients' concerns. Maintaining detailed records on key accounts within the customer relationship management system is essential, as is presenting in-depth reports to the director of sales and other stakeholders as required. You will also conduct regular market research to maintain an updated knowledge of consumers' needs, competitors' activities, and the marketplace. Participation in industry events will be necessary to refine your skills and maintain mutually beneficial business relationships. Adaptability to changing conditions and understanding the implications of key financial indicators will be crucial in this role. You will be expected to experiment to find new solutions by evaluating the pros and cons, risks, and benefits of different solution options.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • At least 2 years of Outside Sales experience and demonstrable experience as a territory account manager.
  • Must be willing to travel to current and prospective customers as required.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Industrial gas or welding experience is preferred.
  • Has a track record of exceeding goals successfully.
