About the position

JASPER Engines & Transmissions, a leader in the automotive industry since 1942, is seeking an Outside Sales Representative to join our team in Waco, TX. As an Outside Sales Representative, you will serve as the face of the company, focusing on cultivating business relationships with customers in the Waco area, including Brownwood and Waxahachie/south Dallas. This role is crucial in our journey to become the Brand of Choice for our Customers and the Employer of Choice for Associate-Owners. In this position, you will utilize a proven system of selling, supported by marketing materials, to develop and implement plans that capitalize on all sales opportunities within your assigned territory. You will be responsible for calling on independent repair facilities, local fleets, city and government entities, marinas, and national accounts. The ideal candidate will possess a hunter sales mentality, be a self-starter, and have a background or knowledge in the automotive industry. Integrity and honesty are essential traits for success in this role. Your responsibilities will include performing needs assessments, developing sales proposals and presentations, and working collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including inside sales, customer service, production, and distribution. You will also plan and manage accounts, introduce new products and updates, and focus on prospecting to grow the business. This position offers a competitive starting base salary, with opportunities for quarterly bonuses based on growth within the territory, and a plan to transition to full commission to maximize earnings.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the face of the company and cultivate business relationships with customers in Waco, TX.
  • Call on independent repair facilities, local fleets, city and government entities, marinas, and national accounts.
  • Utilize a proven system of selling with supportive marketing material.
  • Develop and implement plans to take advantage of all sales opportunities for assigned customers in territory.
  • Perform needs assessments and develop sales proposals and presentations.
  • Work with cross-functional teams including inside sales, customer service, production, and distribution.

Requirements

  • Degree or sales experience preferred.

  • Automotive background or knowledge is beneficial.
