About the position

We have an immediate opening for an Outside Sales Representative, primarily covering areas in Western Tennessee, East Arkansas, or North Mississippi. This position is a Business to Business (B2B) Sales Representative role within Air Products, offering significant room for growth and opportunity. The territory coverage is local, and the role involves selling Microbulk and small bulk cryogenic industrial gases such as nitrogen, oxygen, and argon to a diverse range of market segments including hospitals, life sciences, laboratories, food packagers, metals fabrication, and general industrial sites. The Outside Sales Representative will be responsible for new customer acquisition, meeting or exceeding assigned revenues and profit targets, and executing new account initiation in a timely and flawless manner. This role requires strong selling, influence, persuasion, and closing skills, as well as a highly competitive nature. The representative will be comfortable conducting face-to-face cold calls with businesses within the local territory on a daily basis and will need to manage a pipeline of 50+ prospects while maintaining disciplined work habits. The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to be in outside sales and the ability to overcome objections while retaining a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Sell Microbulk and small bulk cryogenic industrial gases to various market segments.
  • Acquire new customers and meet or exceed assigned revenue and profit targets.
  • Execute new account initiation in a timely and flawless manner.
  • Conduct face-to-face cold calls with businesses within the local territory on a daily basis.
  • Manage a pipeline of 50+ prospects effectively.

Requirements

  • Ability to work independently with excellent communication skills.
  • Strong desire to be in outside sales.
  • Ability to overcome objections and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, but experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 1+ year of sales experience preferred.
