About the position

As an Outside Sales Representative at Race Communications, you will play a crucial role in expanding our customer base and driving revenue growth. Your primary responsibility will be to proactively engage potential customers through direct interactions in their homes and communities. This position requires you to serve as the face of Race Communications, creating meaningful connections with individuals and effectively conveying the exceptional value of our products and services to secure their business. You will be instrumental in promoting reliable, high-quality internet services, thereby supporting Race Communications' mission to bridge the digital divide between rural and urban areas. In this role, you will need to possess excellent communication and customer service skills, as well as sales acumen to explain products and services, address questions and complaints, and provide effective solutions. You will be expected to work independently and collaboratively with other Race team members across various teams and levels of our organization. The ability to adapt to a dynamic, fast-paced, and evolving environment while maintaining a productive professional demeanor is essential. You will also be responsible for sourcing new sales opportunities through door-to-door education of Race fiber optic internet, phone, and television services, identifying customer needs, and generating interest in our offerings. Your success will be measured by your ability to meet or exceed monthly sales goals, manage customer interactions through CRM systems, and maintain detailed records of customer interactions. You will also participate in sales and marketing campaigns and attend outside events, which may require travel. This position is currently 100% travel, with work primarily performed at designated field worksite locations based out of a central Race Communications worksite. Occasional travel to and work from other Race offices or off-site locations will be required. Overall, this role is vital in enhancing technology and enabling access to high-speed internet for communities across California.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively engage potential customers through direct interactions in their homes and communities.
  • Create meaningful connections with individuals to convey the value of Race Communications' products and services.
  • Source new sales opportunities through door-to-door education of Race fiber optic internet, phone, and television services.
  • Identify and assess customer needs to achieve satisfaction and generate sales opportunities.
  • Meet or exceed monthly sales goals set by you and your manager.
  • Manage creation and presentation of quotations for identified opportunities.
  • Gain and retain extensive product knowledge of Race's offerings.
  • Keep detailed records of customer interactions and processes customer accounts.
  • Participate in sales and marketing campaigns and attend outside events as required.
  • Maintain vehicle and equipment to perform required duties effectively.

Requirements

  • Eligibility to work in the US without sponsorship.
  • Minimum age requirement of 18 years.
  • A valid California driver's license, subject to successful verification through a DMV check.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in sales, outside sales, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in utilizing CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce and Sales Rabbit).
  • Ability to travel moderate distances by both car and foot to meet with clients and prospects daily.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; proficiency in Spanish is desirable.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to manage priorities and workflow.
  • Commitment to accuracy and high standards for quality of work.

Nice-to-haves
