About the position

This position is responsible for increasing sales and profit margin by growing business with current accounts and generating new strategic business while collaborating closely with Inside Sales and Management. The role involves making business-to-business sales calls, maintaining and expanding the existing customer base, and continuously researching and identifying leads to convert them into customers.

Responsibilities

  • Execute and deliver upon a defined set of Best Business Practices for the Outside Sales role, including Prospecting, Planning, Prioritizing, Territory Management, Sales, and Developing Leads and Opportunities.
  • Create, implement, and execute a sales plan to increase market share in a specific territory.
  • Develop strong relationships with strategic customers to maintain and grow sales and margin with the existing customer base.
  • Develop proposals, contracts, and agreements to secure long-term business.
  • Introduce new materials to customers and educate them on their use and applications.
  • Develop new customers through prospecting and lead follow-up.
  • Sell value-added services and solutions.

Requirements

  • Ability to proactively manage and grow a pipeline of new business opportunities.
  • Territory management skills.
  • Ability to create and edit written materials and perform basic math calculations.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and proficiency in SAP or similar systems.
  • Ability to solve a range of straightforward problems using standard procedures.
  • Understanding of business-to-business selling approaches and knowledge of sales promotion techniques.
  • Valid Driver's License.

Nice-to-haves

  • Associates degree or better preferred.
  • 2 years of previous sales experience with knowledge of Plastics or Distribution preferred.
