About the position

The Outside Sales Representative at Tom Barrow Company is responsible for consultative sales of HVAC materials in the commercial and industrial markets. This role focuses on generating new customers and managing existing accounts, with an emphasis on promoting Big Ass Fan products and expanding the product line offered to clients. The representative will execute a business plan to meet growth expectations, lead the sales process, and ensure strong customer relations.

Responsibilities

  • Execute an annual business plan to meet aggressive growth expectations within strategic and national accounts.
  • Lead all aspects of the sales process, utilizing BAF sales resources for solution development and proposal delivery.
  • Prospect strategically within manufacturing, distribution, and automotive markets to generate qualified opportunities.
  • Maintain optimum customer relations among existing and prospective customers.
  • Assess customer requests for products and make appropriate recommendations based on needs and applications.
  • Participate in trade shows as needed.
  • Record and update correspondence and activities in Salesforce.
  • Exceed monthly and yearly sales targets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree strongly preferred.
  • 5 years of experience in direct selling or marketing within a manufacturing or related industry.
  • Strong sales and marketing skills with the ability to present HVAC equipment to mechanical contractors and engineers.
  • Technical product knowledge and pre-sale/post-sale technical support skills.
  • Customer relationship skills to develop working relationships with mechanical contractors and engineers.
  • Job management skills to handle multiple projects at different stages of development.
  • Problem-solving ability to address issues creatively and effectively.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in a Microsoft Windows environment.
