About the position

Arrow Distributing Inc. is seeking an Outside Sales Representative to join our team. This position is crucial for our growth in the recreational vehicle (RV) and manufactured housing (MH) parts industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a multi-state territory, primarily based out of Hammond, Louisiana, and will be required to travel overnight to meet with dealers and clients. The role demands a strong commitment to customer service, as Arrow Distributing prides itself on its heritage of top-notch service and innovation in the industry. As an Outside Sales Representative, you will perform professional presentations and demonstrations of our products and services on-site. You will be tasked with penetrating targeted accounts and generating sales from within your client base. This includes overcoming objections from prospective customers, emphasizing product features and benefits, quoting prices, discussing credit terms, and preparing sales orders and reports. Building and fostering a network of referrals to create new revenue opportunities is essential, as is the ability to generate and develop new customer accounts, even through cold-calling when necessary. Maintaining professionalism, tact, and diplomacy is vital to portray the company positively. You will actively manage your call schedule to cover your assigned territory efficiently and maintain accurate records, including sales call reports, expense reimbursement forms, and billing invoices. Additionally, you will conduct information-only presentations, such as seminars and trade show demonstrations, to promote our products and services. Staying informed about new products, competitor activities, and market research is also a key part of this role.

Responsibilities

  • Perform professional presentations or demonstrations of company product(s)/service(s) while on-site.
  • Penetrate all targeted accounts and radiate sales from within client base.
  • Overcome objections of prospective customers.
  • Emphasize product/service features and benefits, quote prices, discuss credit terms, and prepare sales order forms and/or reports.
  • Build and foster a network of referrals to create new opportunities for revenue growth.
  • Generate and develop new customer accounts to increase revenue, by cold-calling if necessary.
  • Maintain professionalism, tact, diplomacy, and sensitivity to portray the company positively.
  • Actively manage call schedule to adequately cover assigned territory in a time-efficient manner.
  • Maintain accurate records, including sales call reports, expense reimbursement forms, billing invoices, and other documentation.
  • Conduct information-only presentations, such as seminars, trade show demonstrations, and other efforts.
  • Build and maintain ongoing awareness of new products and services, competitor activities, and other research.

Requirements

  • Considerable knowledge of customer and personal service principles and processes.
  • Knowledge of sales and marketing principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services.
  • Previous successful sales experience is preferred.
  • Skill in active listening and effective communication.
