About the position

FarmArt is seeking an experienced Outside Sales Representative to join our team in Morristown, NJ. This full-time position is focused on representing our high-quality produce products in the Tri-State area, specifically targeting Restaurants, Cafes, and Country Clubs. The ideal candidate will be responsible for generating sales to both new and existing customers, ensuring that our products meet the needs and preferences of our clientele. This role requires a proactive approach to business development, as well as the ability to maintain strong relationships with customers. In this position, you will be tasked with informing various stakeholders, including buyers, operations, sales, and customer service teams, about customer needs and preferences. You will identify and target new business opportunities while managing individual account sales, gross profits, and sales targets. Troubleshooting any issues that arise during the shipping process is also a key responsibility, which may involve personally delivering products to ensure customer satisfaction. Maintaining open communication with customers regarding product availability, quality, and pricing is essential, as is staying informed about current market conditions. Additionally, you will assist the Accounts Payable department in collections, requiring excellent verbal, written, and customer service skills. A background in food service is a must, and while bilingual (English/Spanish) experience is preferred, it is not mandatory. A proven track record of strong sales and customer relationships is essential, along with the ability to work independently and effectively promote and sell our products. An Associate's Degree in Business is preferred but not required. This role involves light lifting (up to 50 lbs) and requires a valid state driver's license with a safe driving record, as daily travel throughout your assigned territory is expected.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of sales experience, minimum.
  • Valid state driver's license with a safe driving record.
  • Proven track record of strong sales and customer relationships.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and customer service skills.
  • Past experience in food service is a must.
  • Ability to work independently, promote, sell and produce new business.
  • Associate's Degree in Business preferred but not required.
