About the position

The Residential Connectivity Outside Sales team at Spectrum is dedicated to connecting communities with essential broadband services. As a Residential Connectivity Sales Specialist, you will play a crucial role in this mission by engaging with potential customers through door-to-door solicitation. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting proactive consultative needs analyses with prospective customers, developing and presenting tailored sales presentations, and accurately completing all necessary paperwork to support your sales activities. You will also be expected to stay informed about competitors' activities in your assigned territory and participate actively in team meetings and training programs. The position offers flexibility in scheduling, allowing you to work during evenings and weekends when customers are most available. Responsibilities

  • Connect people and communities by offering best-in-class telecommunication services through door-to-door solicitation of new prospective customers.
  • Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
  • Acquire new residential customers through door-to-door contact from assigned leads.
  • Conduct proactive consultative needs analysis with new prospective customers.
  • Develop and present sales presentations/proposals on products and services that meet customers' needs.
  • Accurately complete all necessary paperwork to support sales activities in a manner consistent with quality control guidelines.
  • Support team and team goals by actively participating in all sales meetings and training programs as assigned.
  • Achieve monthly sales quotas in high-speed data, mobile, landline phone, and video sales.
  • Complete all administrative tasks related to products sold in accordance with department practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Stay informed about competitors' activities in assigned territory and inform manager of any changes in competitive pricing programs or marketing directives.
  • Attend and successfully complete training programs.
  • Perform other duties as requested by supervisor.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
  • Engaging interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to listen, formulate needs-based sales strategies, and articulate pitches to sell products and services.
  • A passion to succeed and a strong personal drive to sell to prospective customers.
  • Ability to travel (including during inclement weather) to and from assigned territories using a reliable personal vehicle.
  • Familiarity with computer operating systems and software applications as well as consumer and commercial communication devices.
  • Must be able to work evenings and weekends, as business needs dictate to maximize prospective customer contact.
  • A valid driver's license, car insurance, a satisfactory driving record, and the use of a reliable personal vehicle.
  • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent work experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Success in a previous sales position, prospecting, or cold calling; direct sales experience is preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of cable or telecommunications services, with an emphasis on data networking fundamentals and the ability to educate consumers on related products and services as needed.
  • 2+ years sales or relevant work experience.
