As an Outside Sales Representative at Builders FirstSource, you will play a crucial role in representing the company to some of our largest and most complex customers. Your primary responsibility will be to understand customer needs and identify the products and services that best meet those requirements. This position requires a deep knowledge of our offerings and the ability to effectively communicate how they can benefit our clients. You will be involved in the entire sales process, from collecting data on customer needs to developing sales proposals in collaboration with our inside technical and design staff. In addition to your sales responsibilities, you will also participate in a leadership role within the sales team. This includes training and developing less experienced sales staff, and potentially acting as the Sales Manager in their absence. You will be expected to conduct sales presentations, troubleshoot complex field issues, and prepare various reports for management. Your ability to research and solicit new customers will be key to generating sales opportunities and expanding our client base. The role requires you to continuously update customers on our products and services, ensuring they are aware of how we can meet their current and future needs. You will also enhance your own knowledge of sales techniques and industry standards by attending company-sponsored training programs, and may even serve as a presenter to assist in the development of your peers. Safety is a priority, and you will be expected to adhere to all safety procedures and practices while working both in the office and on-site with customers.
