About the position

The Outside Sales Representative at Rexel USA is responsible for driving sales and marketing efforts to increase profitable sales by building and maintaining strong relationships with both new and existing customers. This role involves utilizing digital tools and company products to develop creative solutions, generate sales volume, and deliver exceptional customer service. The position is based in Santa Rosa, CA, and offers a competitive salary along with a commission/bonus plan.

Responsibilities

  • Sell, market, promote, and demonstrate products to customers.
  • Generate sales to new customers and sell additional products to existing customers.
  • Collaborate with leadership, team members, and suppliers to implement sales strategies and develop new markets.
  • Assist customers with product selection and application using internal specialists and supplier representatives.
  • Establish and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Evaluate customer operations to identify objectives and present tailored solutions.
  • Collaborate with customers for product quotations and maintain communication throughout the purchasing lifecycle.
  • Resolve payment issues promptly with management and customers.
  • Gather and report market information regarding competitors, pricing, and products.
  • Participate in professional development to enhance selling skills and product knowledge.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales calls and expenses.
  • Coordinate sales calls with vendors to demonstrate products and identify customer needs.
  • Utilize digital tools and customer solutions to gain a competitive advantage.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Driver's License
  • 3+ years of sales or electrical industry experience
  • Ability to exhibit a positive and helpful attitude with customers
  • Customer-oriented with excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Product and application knowledge essential
  • Highly self-motivated
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and relevant ERP/CRM systems.
