In the role of Outside Food Sales Representative, you will cultivate relationships, develop new business, and provide innovative solutions to our customers, helping them achieve their goals and, in return, yours! This position will train in Mishawaka, IN. As an Outside Food Sales Representative, you will be responsible for the overall sales and relationship management efforts for existing and prospective customers within your assigned territory. This includes pursuing new customers, deepening and strengthening existing customer relationships, and managing your sales territory effectively. You will engage in various training offerings during your first 90 days, including e-learning, classroom sessions, video roleplays, job shadowing, and peer sales representative mentorship. Throughout this training, you will learn how to use Gordon Food Service systems, processes, and tools to manage customer relationships, understand the products available to customers, and develop strategies for engaging new customers. Your role will also involve balancing new customer acquisition with deepening existing customer relationships, coordinating visits to prospective and existing customers, and communicating order status and processing updates. Responsibilities

  • Cultivate relationships with existing and prospective customers.
  • Develop new business opportunities within assigned territory.
  • Research industry and market trends impacting restaurants.
  • Identify and research prospective customers within the territory.
  • Develop and present sales strategies to prospective customers.
  • Visit all customers within the assigned territory on a regular basis.
  • Conduct business reviews to determine existing customer needs and areas for growth.
  • Provide ongoing training to customers on product offerings.
  • Identify opportunities within existing customers' businesses to add value through products and services.
  • Balance new customer acquisition with strengthening existing relationships.
  • Coordinate visits to prospective and existing customers.
  • Communicate order status and processing updates to customers.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED is required.
  • Bachelor's degree and/or culinary certificate preferred.
  • 1-3 years of prior sales or restaurant managerial experience (front of the house).
  • Must be willing to relocate or consider other territories.
  • Maintaining a valid state driver's license and a safe driving record.

Nice-to-haves
