The representative will be responsible for making cold calls within their designated territory, which is essential for generating new business leads and expanding the company's client base. In this role, the representative will actively develop and identify prospects from current clients, referral leads, and other sources. They may also lead or participate in presentations to new clients, establishing and maintaining effective contact with them. A key responsibility includes identifying new work leads and managing the follow-up process, which involves meticulous record-keeping and information distribution to ensure that all potential opportunities are pursued effectively. The representative will also learn to estimate jobs, which is vital for providing accurate quotes to clients. They will meet with client management, staff, and supervisory personnel to explain the company's character, policies, skills, resources, and capabilities. Additionally, the representative will notify management of sales activities and the approximate timing for company proposal and bid submissions. Understanding client needs and evaluating the company's resources and capabilities in light of those needs is essential for success in this role. Furthermore, the representative will represent the company during client and project management meetings, ensuring that all parties are aligned and informed. They will plan, coordinate, and supervise onsite functions, including scheduling and material control, to support the overall project schedule. The role may also involve assisting in the development and implementation of the Strategic Marketing Plan, department sales objectives, and individual sales plans. Additional assignments may be performed as directed by the supervisor, making this a dynamic and engaging position.

Responsibilities

  • Make cold calls as required in the representative's specific area or territory
  • Develop and identify prospects from current clients, referral leads, and other sources

  • Assist in the development and implementation of the Strategic Marketing Plan, department sales objectives, and individual sales plans
  • Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction

Requirements

  • Comfortable in a highly visible role to potential and current customers
  • Ability to influence and persuade effectively
  • Ability to learn the sales process and successfully close sales
  • Enjoys meeting people and resolving business issues
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record required when duties require use of a motor vehicle
