About the position

Spectrum is evolving its broadband business, and as part of this transformation, we are seeking a Residential Connectivity Outside Sales Specialist. This role is pivotal in connecting communities with essential services, including Spectrum Internet®, TV, mobile, and voice services. As a member of our newly formed Residential Connectivity Sales team, you will play a crucial role in helping millions of households stay connected through innovative products and reliable service. In this position, you will be responsible for door-to-door solicitation of new prospective customers, actively engaging with them to understand their needs and present tailored solutions. Your entrepreneurial spirit and passion for people will drive your success in achieving financial and career goals. You will have the flexibility to manage your schedule, working during evenings and weekends to maximize customer contact when they are home. This role requires a strong work ethic, a positive mindset, and the ability to adapt to various situations as you navigate your sales territory. As a Residential Connectivity Sales Specialist, you will be rewarded for your efforts with uncapped earning potential. Your success will be measured by your ability to acquire new customers, achieve monthly sales quotas, and contribute to the overall team goals. You will also participate in training programs to enhance your skills and knowledge about our products and services, ensuring you are well-equipped to meet customer needs and stay informed about competitive activities in your territory.

Responsibilities

  • Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
  • Acquire new residential customers through door-to-door contact from assigned leads.
  • Conduct proactive consultative needs analysis with new prospective customers.
  • Develop and present sales presentations/proposals on products and services that meet customers' needs.
  • Accurately complete all necessary paperwork to support sales activities in a manner consistent with quality control guidelines.
  • Achieve monthly sales quotas in high-speed data, mobile, landline phone, and video sales.
  • Complete all administrative tasks related to products sold in accordance with department practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Stay informed about competitors' activities in assigned territory and inform management of any changes.
  • Attend and successfully complete training programs.
  • Perform other duties as requested by supervisor.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
  • Engaging interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to listen, formulate needs-based sales strategies, and articulate pitches to sell products and services.
  • A passion to succeed and a strong personal drive to sell to prospective customers.
  • Ability to travel (including during inclement weather) to and from assigned territories using a reliable personal vehicle.
  • Familiarity with computer operating systems and software applications as well as consumer and commercial communication devices.
  • Must be able to work evenings and weekends as business needs dictate.
  • A valid driver's license, car insurance, a satisfactory driving record, and the use of a reliable personal vehicle.
  • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent work experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Success in a previous sales position, prospecting, or cold calling; direct sales experience is preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of cable or telecommunications services, with an emphasis on data networking fundamentals.
