About the position

The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for developing, maintaining, and growing relationships with customers in the defined Distribution Center market, specifically in the Charlotte and Triad NC areas, as well as parts of SW VA. This role operates independently while being part of a local sales team, focusing on delivering value to customers and achieving sales and margin growth expectations. The representative promotes and sells a full range of products, including engineered wood and specialty building products, while ensuring superior value is delivered to customers.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with key customers and dealers.
• Promote and sell the full range of products offered by the Distribution Center.
• Gather market intelligence to inform product mix, pricing, and inventory levels.
• Execute marketing and communication plans with customers, including promotions and updates.
• Analyze customer business needs and develop tailored solutions using Distribution products and services.

Requirements

• Minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
• 5+ years of experience in sales, with at least 3 years in building materials distribution outside sales.
• Proven success in supporting large and complex accounts and building executive relationships.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication skills, both authentic and persuasive.

Nice-to-haves
