About the position

In business for over 60 years, Continental Western Corporation is a leading supplier of an entire line of packaging and cordage products in the United States. Our product line includes strapping, stretch film, tape, cordage, gloves, safety and janitorial products, and much more. We are looking for talented, key people to join our amazing team. As an Outside Sales Representative for our Salinas Territory, you will have the ideal situation - selling quality products to a solid customer base as well as targeting growth and new opportunities. The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic, highly motivated, customer service-minded individual with good presentation and closing skills. Outside Sales Representatives with experience and a background in some form of packaging, industrial, agriculture, or safety products are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Sell quality packaging and cordage products to a solid customer base.
• Target growth and new opportunities within the Salinas Territory.
• Develop and maintain relationships with customers.
• Conduct networking and cold calling/prospecting to generate new leads.
• Manage time efficiently to meet sales targets and deadlines.
• Prepare and deliver presentations to potential clients.
• Close sales effectively and efficiently.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years+ previous outside selling experience.
• Must be a self-starter, enthusiastic, driven & self-motivated.
• Excellent communication skills (interpersonal, verbal and written).
• Experience in networking and cold calling/prospecting.
• Ability to manage time efficiently.
• Excellent closing skills.
• Basic computer skills (working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook).
• A valid driver's license and own vehicle required, with proof of insurance.

Nice-to-haves

• Bilingual in English/Spanish helpful, but not required.
