About the position

BakeMark has immediate job openings for Sales Representatives. With over 200 years of service to the baking industry, BakeMark is recognized as an industry leader and trusted partner for quality bakery ingredients, products, supplies, and services. As a manufacturer and distributor with 33 branches conveniently located across the U.S. and Canada, BakeMark is committed to providing exceptional service and products to its customers. The Sales Representatives are the backbone of the company's growth in all market channels. It is the responsibility of the Sales Representative to grow sales of the company's products and services utilizing the approach, strategies, and tactics prescribed by the Company. This role requires a strong commitment to customer service and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Sales Representatives will be responsible for executing the company's initiatives to promote BakeMark USA's strategy of achieving and maintaining a dominant market share position in the baking industry. Sales Representatives must be able to travel in a local territory approximately 90%-100% of the time, with overnight travel potentially required. The ideal candidate will have experience in sales, a solid understanding of the sales process and dynamics, and superb interpersonal skills to quickly build rapport with both customers and suppliers. Additionally, candidates should be proficient in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and the Internet. A valid driver's license and current auto insurance are also required. Candidates with a one-year certificate from college or technical school, two years of hands-on bakery experience, or two years of prior route sales experience will be preferred. Bilingual candidates are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Grow sales of the company's products and services utilizing prescribed strategies and tactics.
  • Execute the company's initiatives to promote BakeMark USA's strategy for market share dominance.
  • Identify and obtain orders for 100% of the supply needs of customers.
  • Travel in a local territory approximately 90%-100% of the time, with potential overnight travel.
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain strong relationships with customers and suppliers.

Requirements

  • Experience in sales with a solid understanding of the sales process and dynamics.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Motivated to win business opportunities and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Superb interpersonal skills to quickly build rapport with customers and suppliers.
  • Experience using computers for various tasks, including competency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet).
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and current auto insurance.
  • One-year certificate from college or technical school; two years of hands-on bakery experience; two years of prior route sales experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior Baking Industry experience highly desirable.
