About the position

As an Outside Sales Representative at Charter Communications, you will play a crucial role in connecting people and communities by offering best-in-class telecommunication services. Your primary responsibility will be to engage in door-to-door solicitation of new prospective customers, effectively promoting our products and services. You will be responsible for acquiring new residential customers through proactive outreach, conducting needs analyses, and developing tailored sales presentations that meet customer needs. In this role, you will actively support all efforts to enhance the customer experience, ensuring that every interaction is positive and productive. You will be expected to achieve monthly sales quotas across various services, including high-speed data, mobile, landline phone, and video sales. Completing all necessary paperwork accurately and in accordance with quality control guidelines is essential, as is participating in team meetings and training programs to support team goals. Additionally, you will need to stay informed about competitors' activities in your assigned territory and report any changes in pricing or marketing strategies to your manager. The position requires a high level of independence, as you will be working primarily outside, spending approximately 90% of your time in an outdoor environment, which may include exposure to inclement weather. You will also need to be flexible with your schedule, as working evenings and weekends may be necessary to maximize customer contact. Responsibilities

  • Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
  • Acquire new residential customers through door-to-door contact from assigned leads.
  • Conduct proactive consultative needs analysis with new prospective customers.
  • Develop and present sales presentations/proposals on products and services that meet customers' needs.
  • Accurately complete all necessary paperwork to support sales activities in a manner consistent with quality control guidelines.
  • Support team and team goals by actively participating in all sales meetings and training programs as assigned.
  • Achieve monthly sales quotas in high-speed data, mobile, landline phone, and video sales.
  • Complete all administrative tasks related to products sold in accordance with department practice, policies, and procedures.
  • Stay well-informed about competitors' activities in assigned territory and inform manager of any changes.
  • Attend and successfully complete training programs.
  • Perform other duties as requested by supervisor.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent work experience.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
  • Engaging interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to listen, formulate needs-based sales strategies, and articulate pitches to sell products and services.
  • A passion to succeed and a strong personal drive to sell to prospective customers.
  • Ability to travel (including during inclement weather) to and from assigned territories and company facilities using a reliable personal vehicle.
  • Familiarity with computer operating systems and software applications as well as consumer and commercial communication devices.
  • A valid driver's license, car insurance, a satisfactory driving record, and the use of a reliable personal vehicle.
  • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.

Nice-to-haves

  • Success in a previous sales position, prospecting, or cold calling; direct sales experience is preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of cable or telecommunications services, with an emphasis on data networking fundamentals.
