About the position

S.A. Comunale, a leader in mechanical, fire protection, and HVAC services for nearly a century, is seeking a Fire Safety Specialist to join our rapidly growing team. This position is crucial as it involves being the frontline representative responsible for selling new inspection contracts for various fire safety systems, including fire sprinklers, fire alarms, backflow preventers, fire extinguishers, kitchen hood systems, and special hazard systems. The ideal candidate will be proactive in identifying prospects, engaging in cold calling when necessary, and meticulously planning and organizing sales activities to attract and close new customers. The Fire Safety Specialist will be expected to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment, focusing on sales, prospecting for new clients, and providing exceptional customer service. This role requires travel to potential and existing customer sites, where the specialist will perform site visits to assess client needs and provide timely quotes using our CRM system. The successful candidate will also be responsible for accurately tracking activities in our CRM system, ensuring all sales information is correctly transferred to the inspection department, and following up on leads in a timely manner. Networking at events to gain contacts and working seamlessly on large accounts will also be part of the responsibilities. To excel in this role, candidates must possess a valid driver's license and a presentable vehicle, along with a high school diploma (a bachelor's degree is preferred). A minimum of 5 years of experience in selling inspection or service contracts, particularly in a business-to-business context, is required. Previous experience in the fire sprinkler industry and a mechanical aptitude are advantageous. The candidate must be a self-starter with strong communication skills and a proven track record of accomplishments in sales. Familiarity with Salesforce or another equivalent CRM system is preferred, along with significant experience in Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

  • Prospecting for new customers by cold calling and visiting client sites.
  • Tracking activity in our CRM system and scheduling follow-up tasks (Salesforce).
  • Accurately gathering and cataloging new client contact and equipment information.
  • Performing site visits at client facilities to assess needs.
  • Providing quotes for new clients in a timely manner using our CRM system.
  • Closing sales.
  • Correctly transferring sales information to the inspection department.
  • Ensuring all tasks and leads are followed up on in a timely manner.
  • Attending networking events and social marketing events to gain contacts.
  • Working seamlessly on large accounts.

Requirements

  • Valid Driver's license and presentable vehicle is required.
  • High School Diploma is required, Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience selling inspection or service contracts required.
  • Business to business sales experience is required.
  • Previous experience in the Fire Sprinkler industry is a plus.
  • Mechanical aptitude or previous Fire Life Safety experience preferred.
  • Must be a self-starter with good communication skills.
  • Proven record of accomplishments in sales is required.
  • Previous experience with Salesforce or another equivalent CRM system preferred.
  • Significant experience with Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel) applications required.
