About the position

As an Outside Sales Representative at Polar Service Centers, you will play a crucial role in representing the company within a designated territory that includes Williston, Killdeer, and surrounding areas. This position is part of the PSC SERVICE INDIRECT LABOR department and is focused on providing exceptional service in the tank trailer industry. Polar Service Centers prides itself on utilizing the latest technology, including a nationwide parts pricing system and repair tracking for the life of the unit, ensuring that our customers receive the highest level of service possible. You will be part of a team that leverages the nation's largest network of parts and service facilities, offering premier parts inventory, quality used equipment sales, and cargo tank cleaning services. In this role, you will be responsible for actively visiting customers, developing and maintaining relationships, and promoting all facets of the parts and service business. Your efforts will directly contribute to maximizing sales and profitability for the company. The position offers a base salary plus uncapped commission, with the potential for a six-figure income for successful candidates. You will also be required to travel extensively, with overnight stays as necessary, and will receive onsite training to familiarize yourself with our products and customer base. Your responsibilities will include documenting customer visits, assisting in the collection of delinquent payments, and ensuring that all customer account information is accurate and up to date. Continuous education on all products sold by Polar Service Centers will be essential to your success in this role, as will collaboration with Parts and Branch leadership to optimize delivery schedules and enhance customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Actively visit, develop and maintain the relationship between PSC and our customers.
  • Promote and develop all facets of parts and service business with the customer.
  • Maximize sales with the customer at the highest possible levels of profitability.
  • Maximize the breadth of products that are sold by Polar Service Centers.
  • Assist the accounts receivable department in the collection of delinquent payments.
  • Document customer visits in the system within 24 hours of the visit.
  • Continuous education of all products sold by Polar Service Centers.
  • Work with the Parts leadership and Branch leadership to develop delivery schedules that optimize use of the PSC delivery truck and ensure an outstanding level of service to our customers.
  • Ensure all customer account information is accurate and up to date.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in outside sales or a similar role.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with customers.
  • Ability to travel extensively and stay overnight as required.
  • Self-motivated with a strong drive to achieve sales targets.
  • Familiarity with the tank trailer industry or related technical products is a plus.
